About us

While we’re famous for bananas, there’s more to us under the skin.

We’re owned by Portsmouth City Council, who bought the company in 2008. We’ve transformed from a primarily fruit business, into a multi-million cargo handling operation, and are the home port for Maersk South America.

Governed by a board of five directors, including council, MMD, and elected officials, we’re also supported by a strong independent senior management team.

We have over 170 staff, ranging from crane drivers, customer account handlers, warehouse and container operatives, quayside staff, health and safety, HR and facilities.
